Siggy was a woodcarver by trade when he arrived in Canada at the age of 19 from Germany. In 1957 he was an accredited teacher of woodcarving at a respected college. He exhibited with the Sculpture Society of Canada and with the Ontario Society of Artists at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Quebec. By 1967, he held his first one man show at the Canadian Handicraft Guild. Siggy was a woodcarver by trade when he arrived in Canada at the age of 19 from Germany. In 1957 he was an accredited teacher of woodcarving at a respected college. He exhibited with the Sculpture Society of Canada and with the Ontario Society of Artists at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Quebec.
